Server:Danbooru Discord

The Danbooru Discord is a Discord server for the art repository website Danbooru. You don't have to have a Danbooru account to be a member of the server. Members of the server can post their Danbooru name in #general and have a Sheriff approve their identity to earn the Member role, otherwise you are assumed to be Anonymous. It is an official server managed by evazion, Danbooru's primary admin since December 2019. This server has a cult for KMMM-chan, as well as Virtual YouTuber fans. It is an English-speaking server, though there are also a few people fluent in Japanese.

The Discord server is not very visible on Danbooru's website so the server only gets many incoming members on some occasions when the invite appears on the site's top banner.

History[]

The Discord server was established in May 2017, accessible mainly through an obscure thread in the Danbooru Forum. Upon its creation, evazion worked on a Discord bot in it called 'Robot Maid Fumimi' who could interact with Danbooru API through Discord chat commands. In November 2017, the Danbooru logo, as well as Leo chibis were made available as a server emote. In September 2019, the first Double Agent role was fittingly granted to Gelbooru moderator Zapdos. In June 2019, the Mudae bot was added to the server. In 2021 Mudae was finally removed from the server.

2020 would prove the most transformative yet for the server: new channels were created, while some were renamed to serve more specialized purposes (such as the former #offtopic channel becoming #videos). This would be all done in service of making the server better suited for a wider audience, as it was about to be made more accessible in May 2020; on May 13th, a link was added to the site footer, and a top banner was done to reveal the server, now properly official due to the server manager operating the site now.

Following this, the server reached level 2 in Nitro Boosts - Nacho chibis were made available as server emotes. A #memes channel was created days later, to deal with the amount of memes being posted in #general. Sinche then the #memes channel is a constant problem and bullied by evazion. On August 21st 2020 the Wiki was noticed by the server.
